Event Update: Attention Music Professionals! One-Day Workshop on a Career in Music at Cafe Papaya

Do you sing well? Do you have the passion to become a music composer? For all aspiring musicians and professionals, The True School of Music, Mumbai, is showing the way forward. The one-day workshop organised by the True School of Music, in association with The Live Music Project and The Vibe, is guaranteed to offer something special for music lovers in the city. The workshop is scheduled to be held on August 20, 2016, at Cafe Papaya, North Janata Road, Palarivattom, from 3 p.m.

The workshop offers to provide knowledge on how the music industry works and the opportunities it holds. It will also guide the participants on how to make a career through music. The workshop will provide insights into song writing and production.  Ashutosh Phatak, composer and co-founder of the True School of Music and founding partner of BlueFrog, India’s definitive live music venue, and Nitin Chandy, one of India’s leading audio engineers, who has worked on some famous jingles for the brands including Vodafone and Airtel, would lead the workshop.

Mr. Phatak says, “The True School of Music is in sync with the requirements of the industry, yet it is committed to nurturing new talent and trailblazers. From introducing young musicians to the concept of portfolio careers, to making them understand what skills they require to take advantage of the many opportunities available to them, the workshop aims to demystify and provide valuable insight on how to make a successful career in the music industry.”

Whoever feels the need to explore the world of music can come to the workshop. There is no age restriction for entry. The workshop also gives an insight about the opportunities for non-musicians.

Mr. Chandy says, “The situation for jobs in the industry is such that there’s as much a requirement for non-musicians as there is for musicians. There is so much scope today in fields like audio engineering, sound designing, artist management, music publication, and much more. If there’s ever been a great time to be in the music industry, it’s today and it will only get better in the years to come.”

John Thomas of Mother Jane, who is also part of The Vibe, feels that the workshop will be  a great experience for all music lovers.

“The basic introduction and comprehension of the industry would be explained by our professionals. What all are the options and opportunities in the music industry are also included in the workshop,” he says.

If you’re looking for a career in music, then you know this is the place to be on August 20.
