Restaurant Review: Jus T Café is the Perfect Place for Some Casual Dining

An unplanned dinner with a friend led me to Jus T café, an amazing place that ticked all the right marks when it comes to visiting again. It was already late in terms of dinner time and we wanted to grab a quick dinner before we parted. Hence, we decided to search for places in and around Edapally so as to not waste time travelling. We zeroed in on a couple of places but finally decided to try this wonderful restaurant since it came with high recommendations from my friend.

Located inside Oberon Mall on the 4th floor, it is not difficult to find the place at all. As we walked in, I couldn’t help but notice the warm, welcoming ambience and the friendly attitude of the staff. The place wasn’t crowded and hence we got to choose our seating. The interiors are done tastefully with attention to details and I loved how the dim lighting just lifted the whole ambience.

A few minutes after we were settled comfortably in our seats, we were given the menu. The menu here was a pleasant change from the usual, with a lot of variety dishes that you rarely see elsewhere. I loved scouting through their menu that I sat more than a few minutes just reading through it and understanding each dish that they offered. There were some amazing grills and starters in the menu and their tea range is quite noteworthy.

After much confusion and deliberation on what to order, we decided to start with a Vegetable Spring Roll – the photos looked quite tempting to give this a miss, Chicken Caesar Salad and Mediterranean Mix Vegetable. The only disappointment of the day was when I was discussing my accompaniment option with the staff. I am not sure if it was the problem with how I read the menu, but I thought the hot meals would be accompanied either by rice or bread. However, I was told that was only for the chicken dishes and the Mediterranean Mix Vegetable will be served with bread.

After placing the menu, we sat chatting for a while. It took a little while for the starters to be served but it was definitely worth the wait. One bite into the spring roll and all I could do was keep gushing about how good they were. It was fried perfectly, crispy on the outside and stuffed well with vegetables. The sweet chilli sauce that came with it was the perfect accompaniment and for a while, we stopped chatting, rather concentrating on gorging on the sauce dipped spring roll and relishing it. No sooner did we finish, the chicken Caesar salad and the Mediterranean mix vegetables arrived. The salad looked fresh with crunchy leafy vegetables and diced chicken pieces and the looks didn’t disappoint. It was perfectly dressed with the sauce and as crunchy as it looked. The flavours were up to the mark too. The Mediterranean Mix Vegetables looked colourful with broccoli, bell peppers, zucchini, mushroom and carrots and was accompanied by slightly grilled bread. Although seasoned well, I felt it could have been better, maybe if was accompanied by a portion serving of couscous. That said, I must say the vegetables were sautéed and seasoned well.

The serving size, here, is huge and between the two of us, we weren’t able to finish our meals and had to parcel what was left. The pricing is moderate, especially considering the portion size and the quality of service.  In the excitement of ordering the starters and main course, I, sadly, missed ordering something from their tea range. I would have really loved to try one from their range but well, I will have to wait for the next time.

This place was definitely a delightful find, considering that it caters to both quick bite fixes as well as for heavy meals. Considering that it is located right inside Oberon mall, it is definitely going to be my go-to place after a shopping session there. The variety in the menu that this restaurant offers, did indeed bowl me over!
